key things to help you keep your nerve...or seat

i know exactly how you feel:o here are some things that are helping me at the moment;

make sure you have adequate brakes,consider bitting up.

carry a longer stick so you can use it to hold out in the horse's eyeline to help counteract spinning spooks.

barnes buckles on stirrups

wear a BP everytime you ride.

wear highviz so you can be seen if you do come off as well as for the other obv reasons.

highviz on the horse , incase you get seperated

a name tag and phone number on the horse, as above

ride in a defensive seat, heels down and legs shoved slightly forward, weight firmly in the saddle and keep a good hold of the front end so if a spook or a spin comes you are ready, and always turn them back the way they tried to turn.

always carry a mobile phone

and one of these might help? i havent seen one in the flesh but keep seeing them advertised
