Yesterday saw us head off to keysoe for our second go at 90!
All was going to plan, last weekend we jumped onto a XC clinic and easily popped round some 90 and 100 combinations!!
Thursday we headed off to BS for a pop round the BN, just one down in the jump off so super proud of him for that! We even jumped our first water tray!! Good dressage lesson Saturday morning, unfortunately after that is where it started to go down hill!! I was busy cleaning tack and loading the lorry when my very inconvenient body decided to fail me, promptly dropping me to the floor in agony! My stupid foot had given way again it does this from time to time nothing major usually, this time however wasn't quite the same
in true stupidty I was up at 4am to bath and plait the pony the following morning he was very well behaved with all my hobbling!
I hobbled round the sj and xc courses with a few comments from other asking if I was riding.... yes of course I was!! Haha tacked the boy up for dressage, not really 100% sure I would be able to ride but I don't like to let him down so I downed a few pills and manned up! He performed a very sweet test for him, no major spooking and rather well considering only half of me worked to full capacity!! Onto the sj the fences looked biggish! The course was twisty and who knows if my foot would handle my shorter jumping length stirrups?! He warmed up really well, and jumped an awesome round to just have the one down, second part of the double... super proud with that!!
Now the xc!! It was by far the toughest track we have encountered so far, with an owl hole type thing at fence 4, followed by a combination, there was a trakhener too I hate these!! And a few other combinations so plenty of questions for us to answer! He just flew round, made complete mincemeat of the whole thing and came home inside the time again! Sooo much pony love!!
we ended up with a final score of 41.5 (37.5 dressage!) very respectable score unfortunately we were in a very very hot section so didn't trouble the leaders but I couldn't be prouder of him, he's made the step up to 90 so easy!
My foot is suffering for it today but i dont regret it at all!!
Here's a few pics of the boy in action and a very sad looking foot!
