I took Robbie to Keysoe today for the BN and Disco.

With it being half term there were loads there for a change!

First the BN and was near last to go. It was 2 phase.
We spooked our way round 1 to 8 and as he has his double clears now ( and he was annoying me with the spooking!)
i decided to push on a little more in the jump off than i would normally and we left them all up for a DC!
I didnt hear my time - and had spoken to my dad who said they were 'flying' around so didnt tink i would get placed

As there were only 2 left to jump i decided to hang around on the off chance i was placed - and nearly fainted when i heard i was 2nd!!!

Clever pony!!!

Then the Disco - 2 phase again- which had a really naf turn from 4 to 5.
4 was a double 3 strides out the corner and had spooky fillers under both parts which caused a few spooks and you had to really ride it - which then left you having to yank back up to make fence 5, a oxer on a right hand dog leg but it was the most triangular dog leg i have ever seen!!

So in i went on Mr Robbie Trouble - and i needed one more double clear so i went nice and steady round the first phase and pressed the gas a small amount in the jump off as some of the fences where quite big ( i thought so anyway!)

I was delighted to get my last double clear - and even more so that i was placed 6th too!!

off to have a glass of wine to celebrate!

Did any one else go??

Well done. It's always nice when everything comes together on the same day

Have you put him in any 1.05's or Newcomers yet ?

They do seem to build the JO section big at keysoe and sometimes the first phase. Guess they dont want to be hanging around all day.

What a great result for the day

To my knowledge nothing is ever overheight, but we do ensure coursebuilders do build to height.

The arena floor is good, so horses do not struggle to make the height.

Better to qualify over an up to height course before entering a second round that will be bigger, up to height, bold and square

I dont think anyone was suggesting keysoe courses are over height.

but would agree they are always up to height (atleast when I go).
Also agree surface is good. What I have noticed though is that BSJA in smaller areans always looks bigger than in huge areanas like addington which can give the impression of being over height. JMHO

thanks FMM.

Keysoe - i never said it was over height! College is my favourite venue - and isnt neccersarily my most local either!

it is where all my area training is done and i will be back in a fortnight for joan lewis area show as well as the bsja training evenings.
