Kia Sportage

Does anyone use a Kia Sportage for towing? What is your opinion? Am looking for economical vehicle and then lightweight trailer for a 14 2 pony!!!!! and am getting a bit bogged down!

Someone i hunt with uses one, again lightweight trailer for a pony. Seems to work alright!

i had one when towed a single ifor williams with 14:2hh pony towed that fine

I have a kia sportage but wouldnt use it for towing a trailer with pony/horse. Think the Sorento is better for that, it had a very good write up and takes 3500 tow weight like the discovery.

I had one and no, you can't use it for towing. It doesn't have enough capacity to even tow a light trailer and medium-sized pony in safety. It's the choice of many caravanners, they being a lot lighter.

I looked at both the Sportage & the Sorento. The Sportage just isn't big/heavy enough for horse trailers. We went for the Sorento, which I LOVE and really would recommend.

We have a sorrento. We bought is brand new 2 years ago nearly, after seeing it at the Bath and West Show. We love it. We bought it because it won (several times) the JD Power best towing vehicle.

I wouldn't tow more than a small caravan with a Sportage, but I am sure they can do it.
