My gelding was kicked in the field the other day, by the mare

(he probably deserved it fwiw, he is a very big child who likes to play!) Mare has no shoes on.

problem is, he was kicked on the inside of the cannon bone, with slight cut.

Leg was massively swollen on the inside, but painful to touch and appears sound (he is out 24/7 at the mo). It has gone down today, but there is still a bump?

Will this bump ever go? its like a splint but not if you know what I mean, its too "round" at attached to leg to be a splint. any experiences of this?

yes...my horse recieved trauma to his cannon bone when he was younger, the vet prior to purchase advised that swellings very rarly reduce in that area of the leg but very rarely cause longterm lameness............it just looks ugly in the case of my horse but looks aren't everything!!!
