I opened the door to my feed shed yesterday to find myself being attacked. Quick exit and close door as my brain kicked in that it was a bird.

Bird flew out and I turned to find a nest. There are eggs in it so I grabbed any feed I need for a couple weeks and left- feed is now being stored in tack room until birds vamoose.
I have a massive fear of birds.

Swallows in my horse's stables too. In through his big back window and out through the top of his stable door. Lots of poo on his back, but he rolls it off when he goes out each morning. Stables have quite high rooves, so less chance of being dive-bombed!

Definitely not a robin.
Suspect it might be a swallow. White and black and quite small from what I saw of the blur.
I dont think it was attacking but merely trying to escape. Could be the same type of bird I had in my tackroom a couple years ago. I put mealworm down so mumma had food.

Anyone know if there's anything better can put down for this mumma?

Wild bird seed but not the cheap nasty one with tons of barley. I like the mix for robins as it has kibbled peanuts, which is safer than whole peanuts for nestlings.

I was trying to think what I had last time and I think we worked out that was a Wagtail due to the markings it had which I can't remember now.
I thought the new hatchlings were dead (the nest was on a shelf far back so I couldn't see in it and I had visions of leaning over and being attacked (by newborns) 🤣🤣 so I used my phone camera for video and realised they were alive.

This momma isn't around during the day from what I've seen. She's getting in and out of a bust window I've not yet repaired so I've been peering it that so I don't open the door and scare her (or me). If I see her I'll try and capture some footage for identification.

Thank you Pauline - I'll pop to local Harbro and grab some.

7th May was when I found the eggs and the nest, 12th May - pics of the eggs, they hatched around 21st May which was the third photo and the last photo was the 29th May. This was 2022. Not long after that I walked in and the babies all divebombed, flew and I never saw them again. I'm not sure if they were ready to leave or if I scared them.

We have loads of white doves at our yard - I have no idea where they came from, first started noticing them just before I lost Bailey in 2021. Someone took a photo with us standing in front of a water trough and I filmed partner giving her water out of the palm of his hand. This was minutes before the vet arrived to pts.

One day I was really upset visiting the yard not long after i lost Bailey. I walked down the track with my friends past her old paddock. When I turned at the bottom of the track there was a lovely white dove sat on the water trough. It felt like she was saying hello.

I've not been in feed shed in some time but this is what was in the nest. Just parts of egg by the looks of it.

I'm not sure if babies hatched or something got them.

Every spring and early summer my little farm transforms into an aviary. I can’t go into the stables without starlings screaming at me. I can’t go into the hay shed without swallows getting all extra. I can’t use my show jumps because there are swifts in the barn where I store them. I can’t pull ivy out of the gutter because robins are nesting in there. Walking across the yard triggers mass hysteria and let’s not mention my laundry, floors, walls, windows, doors, car, donkeys all getting covered in poop. Do I love them? Absolutely.
