Hi

I have buliders here at the moment building stables for us. 12 x 14 ok???
They used cavity blocks {not as strong as 4" blocks} I was just wondering about kicking boards???? Should you use them ??
I have seen lots of stables that don't have them.

Oh and doors sliding or hinge??

Personally, I would want hinged doors as I have seen a nasty accident where a horse tried to barge his way through a partly shut sliding one, not nice at all! Make sure they are as wide as possible (think getting tacked up horse out easily at the very least) they also need to be able to be swung wide open back to the wall (you'll need hooks and latches to fasten back) Size wise, they sound fine but see if they will put strengthening bars down through the blocks and fill with cement to give greater stability; cavity blocks are very light and a horse could fairly easily do some damage, especially if it likes rubbing! As to kicking boards, personal choice completely.

Thanks. But the blocks are already laid.. some said rubber kicking boards???
The doors way are are 4.2" wide and 7.6" high. I think I'll go for hinge doors { they look nicer also}
