Kidney Failure - any advice or experience?

Hi, my 16 year old Welsh has been diagnosed with this after rapid weightloss. Any advice or experience with this would be brilliant as I am at the end of my tether

I wouldn't have thought that dialysis would be an option for a horse with renal (kidney) failure or a kidney transplant. If your horse has total renal failure then the future is bleak and PTS may be the only option.


ETA. If the kidneys are still functioning a bit - then you will need to talk to your Vet RE the likelyhood that they (or at least one of them) will recover.
