Mini-Abbijay has put in her request to santa; she wants a body protector. Getting one that fits her well is obviously the most significant priority but with lockdown I think this will have to be a measure at home job, I will do lots more research into fitting before I buy one.
My question to you lot is what nice brands are out there that I can start researching with the following criteria;
not just in bogstandard black or navy,
upto the proper standard (is it still BETA 3?)
and not costing enough to buy a gypsy cob of her own?

I am much happier with 4 hooves on the ground these days so have no idea what's out there.

Don't know exact safety standards etc, but I just got mine a Harry Hall zeus junior purely because it was the cheapest I could find online, and I'm really happy with it. It comes in a pink/grey.

My best advice is that there are different styles, maybe ask to try a friends to see which one your daughter prefers.

I started out with a hard shell type one for my daughter but as she's very slim it stood out proud of her body a bit and was uncomfortable. Weve since changed to a more modular style and that suits her frame much more.

Both types were Airowear but 2009 beta 3 standard but both boring black or blue :D

Not sure where abouts you are in the UK and your local covid restrictions, but I would stronly suggest going to a specialised tack shop and getting a proper fitting. Our local safety centre do as many fittings for kids as they do for adults, and in a way it's more important to get the fit right. It's the same with hat fittings - safety isn't something to be scrimped on if you ask me.

I would never buy a piece of safety equipment without checking it was correctly fitted however firstly there is the covid issue and secondly there is the santa issue. I was in my local tack shop yesterday and they only do plain black or blue ones, hence my coming on here and looking for suggestions. If I get suggestions of brands that offer what I am looking for I will then be able to see if anywhere local to me stocks them and is open for such things.

My kids currently have a Airowear Teen Outlyne (12 yr old boy, tall and skinny) and a Champion Ti22 (8yr old girl, also tall and skinny!). Both are in black. I know the Champion one comes in a mid grey colour, but I'm not sure about other colours for the Airowear one.
