Trying out some Jag saddles next week but am now thinking about buying a Kieffer saddle as have found one for sale for a good price.. and the horse seems to love Kieffer for some reason. Have tried the Wein- fitted so well, horse went well, but I couldnt ride in it. Tried the Zugsptize which was awesome to ride in, W went well in it even tho it did not fit ( it was a medium tree and it was too wide, and the narrow tree is too narrow so have given up with that one)

So am now going to try the Kiel- like the fact that they are adjustable. Anyone ridden in one? Are they comfortable& easy to adjust? How do they change the tree shape?

This saddle is up on ebay quite cheap and am wondering wether to take the risk and buy it

I have the kiel and love it, but I'm biased as also have the kieffer garmisch gp saddle! I have no idea how they adjust them, mine fitted my boy straight off. I love riding in it, very comfy.

I have the Kieffer Piet and love it, I'm afraid the saddler fitter adjusts mine and it takes no time at all but how they do it I don't know.

I too love the adjustability of them .

Thank you that sounds promising!
Babara- so do you feel like the saddle puts you in the right position and do you feel totally secure and comfortable? & does the horse go well in it?

I have a aachen AJ ( gp saddle) bought it as a medium and my horse is between medium and medium wide so saddler took a template and took saddle away and adjusted the tree ( apparently as simple as heating it in a special machine then adjusting) think it cost around £80 ( including travel )

not all of them are heat adjusted

i find them really comfy and the range i work with design and teknik worked historically for kieffer - very similar although some of the materials differ ie. the girth straps are lemico which have a 500k breaking strength so basically arent that stretchy

errr feather flocking wide gullet for good clearence of horses spine and feather flocking - although i do think that this might be a kieffer feature also.

also what i LOVE about both the jumping and dressage saddles is that they have memory foam in seat and knee rolls (optional) and also the option of double or single layer leather x

Yes, I feel very safe in it and it puts me in a good position. I've only ridden him in kieffers so can't compare his way of going in it to anything else but he does go well in it with a very free movement.

It looks like one that i rode in at the weekend, if it is then its really comfy, but ive always had a thing for kieffer saddles - love them!

(If only my native fitted in them!)
