Anyone use it? Any success? I know it's quite expensive just wondered if it's worth it?
I know Netex stop itch works well but it's so messy and difficult to clean/wash out for competitions so looking for alternatives.....
I have just bought another sweet itch rug (Divoza) with hood too and plan to get a cotton combo rug for the stable as don't want him in his SW rug all the time.....

so any other recomendations for sweet itch season!!!

Best thing I have found to control my 17 hand lads SW is a rambo sweet itch hoody when he is out, a dust buster in the stable and apply loads of benzyl benzoate (sp) as many of the SW preperations out there contain large amounts of B.B. and buying it from Boots is far cheaper! I also use an anti-midge repellant and stable him at peak midgey times.

Brilliant thanks for that, had thought it looked alot like BB, do you apply it everyday?
I use midge spray from superdrug with DEET in and other fly sprays.... which do you use?
Think the dust buster looks better than just a cotton combo, just try find good price for one now - blooming horses always costing money!!!

Midge sprays I think depend on what works with your horses skin and the type of midge you get in your area - I think some midges react better to different lotions and potions to others! Carr & Day & Martin do a spray in yellow bottle which had anti-midge stuff in it and seems pretty good to me but I know alot of people do swear by anything that contains deet - I'm sure one of the horsey repellents I saw advertised a while ago now contains deet too.

Try ebay for yor dustbuster, I got a new sweetitch hoody off there really cheaply a while ago, it was just in the old season colours

Brill thanks again, will look out for that spray - there's that many now!!! Luckily i have access to wholesalers but they only stock certain brands will check next time i go i always spend too much there as think i'm saving money, just spend twice as much!!! - and unfortunately no rambo rugs will check on ebay, if not i will call upon trade contacts, managed to get Rambo Supreme at trade a while ago so worth trying again !
It's all about who you know isn't it!
Thanks again, shame i work for wrong saddle company ref your sig.

Kill itch is the only application which has BB in it, and you can't buy BB over the counter at the chemist anymore (probably EU regulations!). I've used Nettex Itch Stop Salve Complete and Killitch and they both worked well, Itch stop is better for horses which aren't ridden regularly, I agree it's hard to get off, but I guess that's why it works!

You could try the spray receipe I have posted in another post for fly/midge spray. My gelding gets mild SI and I find liberal application of this twice a day, the sudocream mix on his sheath and a rambo fly protector (but I don't use the neck cover) works for him.

The spray leaves a lovely glossy coat due to the oil in it and washes out very easily for shows - I am showing two or three times a month from May to September with him.

Switch works really well. Its made by Day Son and Hewitt.
