I have just been looking through my facebook and came across this group >>http://media.causes.com/686454

Its a really heartbreaking story that everyone should back, because i wouldnt know what to do if it happend to one of my horses and i dont think anyone should have to go through it, we need to make drivers more aware and i think this could well be the way to do it!

my heart goes out to the girl who lost her horse and who has started this campaine.

What happens to the drivers in these instances?

We have to hack on country lanes to get to the bridle paths and I am always nervous as hell on them. Most drivers do slow down, others don't because they can't be bothered or haven't seen us in time...

Poor horse and owner

Worse now a days.. people WONT slow down i even had some 'boy racer' with his girlfriend go past at 100mph and then put his middle finger up! and then a huge petrol lorry came past at a fast speed!

poor horse and owner RIP x

Me too, that poor girl, my cousin lost his horse in the same manner, he was totally devasted. I always wear hi vis, and so do my kids, even at the riding school, cos they sometimes go on the road. some drivers just dont see the "slow down, horses crossing" signs!!God be with the days that the truck driver knew you by name, the amount of times he met you on the road. Nowdays, the bulk of trck drivers are thinking about getting there as soon as possible, so friggin horses on the road are just delaying them. Poor us, really!!!!!
