Killer donkeys

A terrible tragedy all round. They possibly took fright at the mobility scooter; perhaps it was making an odd noise. Horses would probably have bolted away, but donks being feisty little things would stay and 'fight'.

I was attacked by a donkey stallion once. They are very agressive towards their mares and this one was savaging a small jenny, who had a foal at foot. I set about the stallion, tried everything to make him let her go, it was horrible. He did let her go, but clamped his jaws around my arm instead and shook me like a rag doll (no mean feat) The arm was a mess and I never felt quite the same about donkeys after that experience. :(

oh how sad for the old man and the donkeys :(

never met an aggressive one, but the the little one we had at our yard a few years ago like to play rough. i stayed away from his paddock though after he jumped on me, think he thought he was a dog!

We had a donkey stallion who I literally had to kick and punch to get him off two geldings he broke into. Was horrible, he broke my finger, also another just cut that reared up and "punched" me in the face!
We just have one female minature med now and she is the best in the world wouldn't hurt a fly but is scared of donkeys :s

Nearly 30 years ago we were given two donkeys. We were warned that one could be aggressive, and that was an understatement. I tried everything to deal with her, but after around 6 months we had her pts, as she was totally unpredictable. :( Her gelding companion was fine with people and is still with us after all these years, however he will chase strange dogs and try and stamp on them, and last year we had some sheep in our field and one lambed early. The first I knew was when I saw the donkey with something in his mouth - he was shaking the lamb , I'm not sure if it would have survived as it was prem but he certainly didn't help and the poor lamb didn't make it.:(

Shows how little I know. Yes, poor man who died. He, probably, like me, thought they were docile creatures.
