Kimblewicks are similar in action to a pelham but with less poll pressure (slotted kimblewicks can exert quite a lot of poll pressure when the bottom slot is used though). You can't get french link kimblewicks I don't think.

The slots are to increase the level of curb action, the higher slot is milder.

Personally wouldn't go with a kimblewick with any sort of jointed mouthpiece, defeats the object IHMO. Try a ported, that what mine goes in.

used it once and did not like it. they are fairly heavy i must say and if your horse bolts dont get one as they can set the mouth. *if you know what i mean*
