kimblewick bits

i have been looking for a kimblewick bit for my mare, and have found loads, some have rein slits and some dont?? do these make any difference?? also does anybody knnow if they do french link kimblewicks??
any help?? thank you!!!

Kimblewicks are similar in action to a pelham but with less poll pressure (slotted kimblewicks can exert quite a lot of poll pressure when the bottom slot is used though). You can't get french link kimblewicks I don't think.

yes it does very musch so! she does not like to much poll pressure, so would i be better off getting one with no slots in it??

The slots are to increase the level of curb action, the higher slot is milder.

Personally wouldn't go with a kimblewick with any sort of jointed mouthpiece, defeats the object IHMO. Try a ported, that what mine goes in.

french link only avaliable in pelhams not kimblewicks, these are mainly ported or single joint

nope, you can get french links.

i have one of these:
but the middle bit is higher.

used it once and did not like it. they are fairly heavy i must say and if your horse bolts dont get one as they can set the mouth. *if you know what i mean*
