what is the quality like, they seem very cheap??!

Kincaid are made friom imported leather, they're Ok but you get what you pay for with bridles, pay cheap & get a cheap bridle. I p[refer to pay a bit more & get quality. Quality shines through, looks good & lasts so much longer.

I bought one a year and half ago and it has been absoloutely great. It was £24 and has kept going well and still looks nice. I spent a lot of time oiling it and really getting it supple before using it and it has been OK since. I don't tear around the countryside doing cross country etc - mainly hacking, local showing and dressage, although Bomber does pull like a train sometimes. I replaced the browband and noseband last year as I wanted much wider ones. I would definately say they are OK for hacking.

I used the same one for about 6 years, they're not weak at all! I used it for everyday use and its still in reasonable condition, its actually less worn than my Sabre one that I rarely use! Brilliant value for money I think

never had a prob with them.... like any leatherwork if you look after it it will last loads longer...

I've always oiled and treated mine on a reqular basis and it still looks like new and you'd never believe it only cost £24....

i have one for everyday use and think its fab. its about a year now and still looks good but i oil it every other month or so.

For the price you pay for them they are fab! I work in a tack shop part time at the moment and went up to BETA in February with work and consequently had a long chat with Weatherbeeta (who make them). They ARE in fact English leather, but of a lower grade than the Stuubens, etc. What is apparantly now happening with a lot of leatherwork is that al lot of countries are now importing slightly lower grade English leather for their tack and then subsequently shipping tham back to the UK as 'foreign' leather.
Kincade does in fact use english leather for all of its leatherwork, just as I said, of a different grade. They are great for everyday use and I myself have had the same one for about 3 years now and it's still going strong. In addition, several of the event riders I have worked with in the past use them as their everyday bridles - and in their cases they will get used up to 12 or more times a day each! And their bridles will easily last them a couple of years.
Hope this helps.

I have a Kincade breastplate and it is ok. I think the bridles are quite good but but they are imported leather which is why they are cheap. I personally would rather pay more for an english leather bridle because they look and feel nicer, they are less likely to break and they last much longer so are cheaper in the long term.
