i read this in the paper 2...its a sorry state of affairs but i guess thats just smithfield for u...that pony was lucky that kid came across him poor creature!

Yeah its been on the news too. I wish they would shut smithfield down Its ahorrible place but i suppose if they did that then this pony wouldn't have been bought by the boy.

Ironic isnt it that there is alaw to prevent under sixteens buying a horse,yet it took an 11 year old to step in and save this poor animal from suffering. A hearty HHO cheer for him.

Shutting places like Smithfield will just drive it underground. There should be strict regulations and an atmosphere towards education.

Well done to him but if the sale is closely monitored as stated by the spokesperson, (quote HH news) "Dublin SCPA, said: "Our inspectors have been attending every Smithfield Market for many years" - why didn't they spot the pony's condition?
