Kingsbarn Equestrian Centre, Falkirk

That's what happens when you open a big livery yard with no land to graze the horse's on. Too big, too quick and with bad management I think.

I feel sorry for the liveries that I imagine will be super stressed about finding a new home for their cuddies. Sure the BHS will see the horse's right, it's good to know my donations are going toward bailing out a plonker that can't run his finances.

Is that a 'dig' at the BHS?

I am very surprised to hear Kingsbarn had no grazing, even a competition training facility needs turnout

Its amazing the speed of decline, from an investment of £10m to administration in a couple of years. Something has gone wrong and I would suggest the investment monies were a loan that cannot be repaid rather than personal capital injection. How else can things deteriorate so quickly, someone somewhere surely put a business plan together.

No it's a dig at the people that f*cked up and left the BHS with no option but to put money forward to feed the horses.

In the same way I wouldn't have a dig at the government for stumping up cash to stop a bank failing but I would have a good dig at the f*ckers that walked away with a pocket full of money leaving everyone else (tax payer or BHS supporters) to clear up the mess.

All I will say is "don't believe everything you read in the papers".

This has been an awful experience for all involved, and incorrect "reports" in the press that the horses were short of feed, which implied that the staff at the centre didn't care about welfare, have simply added to the hurt and anger already felt.

Staff who are losing their jobs left, right and centre would've coughed up their own pennies if this had been the case. The BHS offered financial support which was only turned down because it simply wasn't required.

Please just spare a thought for staff who are now unemployed, with wages and overtime in arrears, and for the trusty riding school horses and ponies who now face uncertain futures.

My auntie used to keep her horse at Kingsbarn so i was up there a lot and was a regular customer in the riding school.

The horses were very well looked after and the staff were amazing and ensured that every horse had food. The stables were cleared morning and night and the horses fed at the same time, each horse also had hay in its stable and if they wern't being used in the riding school or were livery horses they were turnedout into the fields that were available. If the fields were ever too mucky the horses would have been turned out into the outdoor school with hay provided.

When Kngsbarn went into administration there was hay and bedding put aside for the horses so that they all had food and staff were kept on to look after the horses.

I know i've went on for a while but i would just like to defend Kingsbarn as some of the stuff in the press is wrong.
