Kissing Horse

Does anyone else's horse like to kiss them or is mine just a bit over affectionate? I was early for my lesson today so I sat on my grooming box in Nelly's stable for 10 mins and she kept kissing me by putting her face right up to mine and blowing down her nose. I think it is great and my YO says that she has just started doing it to her as well.

We had a great lesson too btw - trotting poles, which Nelly's not seen before but she took them (literally) in her stride!

Horses can communicate by blowing into each others nostrils with their breath. It's normal

argh my boys are like that too!! its so sweet, but they never do it when someone else is around!!
i can lay down in the field and buddie my pony will stand over me and go to sleep!!

BTW i only lay down in the field in summer LOL

yes! my horse is very affectionate! she's a people person and she also gives kissies!

My old boy used to kiss you for a polo. He was the gentlest horse ever but unfortunately the guy who looked after his was a tiny alcoholic you could blow down with a feather. One day Toby went to give him a kiss, he fell over and broke one of his teeth. He went home to have a large whiskey and pull the rest of the tooth out while I did my own mucking out!

I kiss them even if they don't want to kiss me...

i LOVE kissing my boys muzzle, loads and loads and loads, the closest thing i get back from him tho, which is quite cute, is when i lean on stable door he will often rest his head on my shoulder / arm / small of back and blow lovely hot air on me. ah bless. means nothing to him but heaps to me. barf bag?? LOVING THE PHOTOS.

Awww I love the way he/she (sorry) is looking at the camera in the 2nd piccy.
My boy sort of nudges my face when I kiss him as if to say Ewwww go on then if I have to!

both mine seem to enjoy 'kissing', getting cuddles and scratches. Fudge is 'easy' though he'll kiss anyone especially if he's got a mouthful of food to drool over them.
