kissing spine operation

me and my boy are 8 wks after op for kissing spine, dr peter milnor at leahurst removed six and a half proc, he did op under standing sedation, op went really well, xrays after op were all good, so just need to get his mind right. dr milnor said he has never removed so many proc. just would like any body who has been in the same situation to get in touch.
i would also like to praise dr peter milnor for his time and patience.he has been so caring supportive and understanding.
he is a good vet and a good man. any one in the north west with ks props should see this man he is the best.pls any one who has had ks spine surgery please get in touch thx vicky
 
Hi my mare had the op by Svend Kold end of last year and she is like a new horse!!

she is moving nicely which is such a relief, iv taken it all so slowly as hey whats the rush! its given me a new perspective and love for her! Alot of people told me i was silly for going forward for the op as she was 15/16, but hey i did it, wasnt an easy ride and im flat broke now but i have a happy healthy horse!

Very interesting about your horse standing up during surgery!!
 
Mine went to willersley as well to have the op and they operated on him standing up .Came back into work no problem fit sound and very exuberant !
They say if your horse had the capability before the kissing spine started to give him problems there is no reason why they can't go back to that level of work after.
I had bought a nice quiet Irish horse to hunt and generally pootle about on. Six months down the line he was in surgery. I have had to sell him on as he became to fit and well for me to cope with. Obviously he had issues when I bought him that was why he was so quiet. And yes, he was vetted before anyone asks..........
