Found in a friends mare yesterday. she has been injected with steroids and had a general anaesthetic is her spine prior to being ridden to check progress but she still bucked. Just wanted to know the options, what they can do and if it can be cured, the sort of restrictions on what they can do. Anything would be helpful.

Sorry to hear about that - seem to be the problem of the moment.

there are a lot of posts about this, mostly to do with operations. Not every horse needs operating though. My friends horse had a course of injections and pessoa work and is now back in full work and jumping as well as ever - so far. its still early days but there is hope in quite a few cases I believe.

My boy had the injections which didn't work and then had surgery (2 1/2" removed from two of his spinous processes)two years ago, due to scar tissue he had the medication in his back again which worked wonders this time and he is going from strength to strength and we cantered our first circle today. Its been a very long and not at all easy journey but he is fab now and no restrictions as to what he can do.

My 3yo just been diagnosed with KS any info greatly appreciated! I'm just devastated!
