Wagtail
Horse servant
For all those who are interested. My horse underwent the surgery to remove five spinal processes six weeks ago. He never appeared to be in any discomfort during his two week box rest followed by the dreaded two weeks walking in hand. Although he was sore to the touch nearer the rear third of his scar. Since then he has been turned out for two hours a day in the sand turnout. He spends a lot of the time on his hind legs spinning round and generally making a nuisance of himself.
I have noticed that his wither pockets (where the saddle goes) have filled out and that his trot is much bigger and bouncy. He is also allowing me to hold up his hind legs, which he was not allowing before. I dare not think too far ahead though and am happy that he at least seems very comfortable in himself. I am daring to dream that maybe, just maybe, I might not have two field ornaments after all, and perhaps I might have my lovely horse back to ride.
I will be taking it very slowly though and don't plan sitting on him until he is fully turned out in the spring, and after extensive fittening work long lining and pessoa.
