Sossigpokers post on TB rehoming thread reminded me about this. Are the problems I hear about so often these days regarding KS, found mainly in TBs off the track and given a new chance. Is it due to the prior strain on growing youngsters skeletal frame? Or is KS found equally in none TBs, nothing to do with racing at all? Just seems KS could be very logical result of overuse. TIA.

It's nothing to do with racing in itself, and it has been found to have hereditary component to it, they have identified the genes. Some are born like it, mine was.

But it is often to do with working horses whose thoracic sling I isn’t sufficiently engaged, and racing does that a lot. I hope sbloom will be along soon to explain. Meanwhile Keira's threads show just how effective a proper rehab, without surgery, can be for these horses.
