I've seen a horse that i like, 8 year old 17hh mare, competed to a decent level eventing and has BE points, however, she has had kissing spines and had the expensive operation, she has recovered and been ridden away and jumping about 1m-1.10m since the op. My question is, would you buy a horse that had kissing spines before and had the op etc? Just to add, i've known this horse for 1 year now, see her ridden in the school, out hacking and jumping during the week when i go up to ride my share horse, she hasn't had any problems during the time i've know her. Experiences would be great too :)
Thank you :)

Hi my horse has just had the kissing spine op, to remove the close vertabres. Once they have been removed that will not grow back. Hope this helps

Just be aware that you would not be covered on your insurance should she have problems related to this injury, quite commonly horses with KS have problems behind, if this could be linked in any way to the original KS diagnosis there is every chance you wouldn't be covered.
