Kitten food?

I have two 11 week old kittens, before I got them they were weaned onto standard Tesco cat foot. Since getting them I've had them on felix kitten food, however it's not easy for me to get this stuff , however I can easily get Felix cat food and they have had this on the odd occasion I've run out of kitten food.
So questions is can I just keep them on the easier to get Felix Cat Food?
 
Years ago people just fed them cat food. However you might want to try to switch them to an easier to obtain kitten food for the next few months at least.
 
Theres no reason not to have them on the grown up stuff. We have had so many kittens through our hands over the years and none of them have come to any harm.

Just avoid Whiskas if you can....they get spoilt and refuse to eat anything else!
 
If they were still really tiny or they were poorly I would say the proper kitten food would be a better option but adult catfood is pretty well balanced for most healthy active kittens.

And where are the photos!!

My barn kittens eat the same dry food as the adults, I just soak the biscuits in water and start them off with nice soggy biscuits and gave them a choice, wet or dry food, their mum fed them whatever she caught too as I'd often find them chewing on a bit of mouse. Not that I'm suggesting you go out catching mice for them!

I suppose you can wean them on to whatever you intend feeding them the same way as you would change a horses' diet. Cats are notoriously fussy aren't they? My Mother has one in France that will only eat a certain brand and when Ma refused to buy (the expensive brand of course) anymore, the cat went on hunger strike!

I'm very lucky, my cat has never been particularly fussy. His breeder fed him on half dry and half canned food as a kitten, and when he came to us he ate both but preferred the dry. Well, as we hate the smell of wet food, that was quite a bonus! Now the cat eats what he's given, and if we change foods he gobbles the new one down as he thinks it's a treat!

Of course, he has his own ideas on what he would like to eat. After grilling fish one night, and leaving the grill in the sink to soak, we came in a bit later to find cat half in the sink and licking the remaining fish off the grill!

My mum buys very expensive cat food pouches that you can only buy from the vet for her cat - and the little sod only licks the jelly off and leaves the meat!!! Ours are on Hills Science Diet dried food, which doesn't smell as much as wet food. I don't imagine putting your kits on cat food will harm them - I suspect all this special kitten food's a bit of a con anyway.
 
Iams kitten food went straight thru Custard like a Porsche, made him quite poorly.

Kitten food is very rich and can be too much for some. I'd say cheapest is often better due to the higher cereal content and fishy flavoured rather than 'beef/game/lamb' type stuff
 
My cats had ac litter each total 8 kittens 2 cats. Would not even consider kitten food would cost a fortune, I am just feeding what ever is cheapest tesco morrisons own included. All the kits were vet checked yesterday prior to selling and given a thumbs up. IMO kitten puppy food is pet food manufacturers way of getting us to spend more money
