can anyone out there help me in my hunt to find a kitten. i want a ginger or grey kitten. apparently there are none.( where have they all gone?)i have tried all the rescue places and gone through all the local ads with no luck. i have just lost my 19yr old cat and my 3yrold is lonely on her own.it must be a kitten as i have dogs and they will accept a kitten, but will not be so happy with an older cat being introduced.i dont mind traveling around 30 miles from chesterfield area. i did find 1 kitten in halifax rspca, but they wont let it travel that far. i am not desperate for one this week, i can wait if anyone knows of any around please let me know... thanks

where i live all the cats are black and white or varients of, the local tom cat has been rather a buisy boy. 2 tabbys next door moved in last year.. i just wanted something different. it takes me ages to spot our cat out and about they are all the same colour.i have allways wanted ginger or grey but usually fall for anything, over the past 40 years i never have got the ginger kitten. so i thought i would try this time...

We have a female kitten left, last of the litter. Her 3 brothers have got homes but it seems nobody wants a girl :(

She's black though and in Lincolnshire.

When i worked for the Cats Protection, there would be fights over the gingers, the greys and the white kittens. Some pretty tabbys too. The black ones were completely ignored unless there were no alternatives. It was so sad because they were often friendlier. Even if a grey kitten was near-feral, it would get homed the same day it went up for adoption. We clocked on though and started pairing them up with their 'boring coloured' siblings and saying they had to go together! :D
I don't work there any more but am currently hand-rearing this little minger for them!

Chesterfield rspca all greys gone... North yorks may be a little too far away, it depends on where though.let me know where about a plz. I dare not go and look at any others... I will take them all home. Husband will leave home if I bring home two... But he did say he would leave when I brought the first animal home. 2 cats and 3 dogs and 2 horses later he's still here.. ah maybe I should get 2 kittens...lol

Theres some British Blue cross bred kittens in Bedfordshire on another forum I go on... pm me if thats any help. Is blue the same as grey!?

Is he Egyptian Mau?

(Sorry to hijack OP:))

Yes. :D

ETA, I read that EM's are the fastest domestic cat and he is pretty nippy on his pins. Last night he was crossing the field and the two year old decided to canter after him (slow canter) but Kasper just went into canter too and easily kept infront without much effort. I'd love to see him at full pelt - he's a little silver cheetah. ;)

Your cat is being sociable, good and friendly... mine has bogged off to pretend to be a proper cat. He probably has grand ideas about catching a rabbit, but he's bound to come in with a wet leaf or some other, equally vicious prey! :p

Thanks - yes they're in my sig. My grey cat is Floss, like one of your horses I think? x

That's right - the grey is called Floss because Hanoonah is a bit of a mouthful. Her breeder's young son named her that (well - Candyfloss) because she was pink when she was younger.
