KK bit rubbing the mouth

Grace has been in a KK now since I took her on in October, but her KK (which fits correctly) seems to keep cutting the side of her mouth. It is not actually in the mouth, more where the bit attaches to the loose rings.

Has anyone else experienced this? I cannot use bit guards because they also rubbed her (she is a chestnut and seems to have quite thin skin), plus they are not BD legal.

funny you should mention this post, but yes I to have the same problem, that happend the other day... it has also rubed.

It did when I first started using it, but hasn't rubbed as badly as it did today since then really, although it has left small marks a few times (dry skin is the best way I can describe it).

I don't know whether to try my Myler that I have as it has fixed sides???

Yes, I would try your Myler or an eggbutt. Loose rings can do this to some horses. You could put rubbers on but you can't use them for BD, so try a fixed bit.

I need something that does not have a nut cracker action because she really hates it... I know it is because she has been out of work for two weeks which has caused her mouth to become a bit softer. Would vaseline help?
