KM Peyton- a genius!

Blind Beauty was my favourite book when I was younger, read it over and over again and did more recently and still loved it! Amazing book.

Thank you for her website! The Grand National book is The Last Ditch. Looking through her chronology, I remembered Who Sir, Me Sir - I'm sure this was a TV series in the 80s when they trained up a group of unlikely kids to do the pentathlon. Anyone else remember?

I remember that one! They got some of their horses from the knacker's yard. Was there also one about the same bunch of characters where they went on a school ski trip, or am I imagining things?

Oh wow, so many amazing memories coming back to me now! I'm going to beetle off to eBay and buy the lot again. Adored Fly by Night and the Jinny books I had got reread until they fell to bits! Thanks for starting this thread :)

I loved Fly by Night and The Team as a child, and am now inspired to get into the attic and find it for my daughter, and check out the subsequent titles on e-bay!

I loved FBN and The Team :D Fabulous books that don't create a whimsicle pony story, just the reality of what it's like for the majority of us!

Add me to the FBN and The Team lovers, although it is some time since I read FBN. The Swallow books are good too.

If The Last Ditch is the book I think it is, it got me into a fair bit of trouble once. (Silent reading lesson at school, I was looking at the course map inside the front cover - teacher decided I wasn't reading, I said I was. Big argument, she went off in tears... Fun times).

Thank you OP for this post. I've just added these books to my shopping list for my 11 yo daughter as many of the books I get her she finds boring.

Ahhh I LOVE fly by night! I was hoping to come across it again when I moved house but couldn't find it anywhere. I havent read any of the others, going to see what I can find on eBay. Love it!
