Did my stage 4 yesterday as required Is a figure of 8 hock or knee bandage ..
I did a knee bandage .. 2 turns at the top down over the knee round twice at the bottom back across the knee the other way carrying on etc making sure no pressure or bandage at the back of the knee.. the examiner came in and said will this horse be able to flex his knee? I thought that's how figure of 8s where done? Anyway think I failed that lol

Can’t imagine why anyone would need to know that nowadays when you can just use pollster dressing .
Hope the exam went well apart from that .

If you have a horse with a fracture in the knee then you most certainly need to know how to bandage a knee. Likewise with a hock injury. It is actually a good skill to have as not many people can bandage correctly on the lower half of the limb let alone the joints. There are very few people at work I would trust with such a bandage. Same with Robert Jone's bandages, they are complicated and are very easy to get wrong and cause more damage.
