Can you turn out with Knee boots on ?? My gelding is in with 2 others they get on fab but when they first go out they play this stupid game where they try to bite each others knees and end up down on their front knees ?

don't have any idea why they do it, but my boy keeps coming in with bumps etc so thought I could turn him out with them on ????

Can I or does anyone see any problems that may occur ?

You boots might get wrecked :-)

Are they the ones with the strap above knee and one loose below knee. Only prob I could see is if they got loose they'd drop round horses feet and he may trip or something. Could you get those brushing boots with the inbuilt knee protection? Maybe that would be less risky.

I had also been wondering about this! My horse is a bit accident prone!

No I wouldnt turn him out in them, this is quite normal behaviour and they will be fine. My horse is 10 and has never been out with other horses untik I moved him 3 months ago, he went out in the field with brushing boots and overreach boots but I think knee boots could cause more harm than good! Good luck in whatever you decide

I wouldnt, however well they fit they can slip occasionally and then sit round the hoof and could more trouble than they are worth.

The brushing and knee boots that are combined are popular at my yard (for riding in) they would be your safest bet, as no knee strap, if you want to go ahead with some. Westropp make them.
