I bought some knee boots yesterday for my TB, used them today and they slipped down whilst we were out riding, so the protective part was below his knees! A bit pointless me thinks!

So, can people please advise me which brand and type to buy which will fit a fine TB and which won't slip down. The ones I bought yesterday are neoprene with velcro touch and close fastenings, I did them up quite tight but they still moved, and I don't really want to be cutting off my boy's blood supply to his front hooves!

Thanking you kindly!

After getting over the distress of Katie Price being on the cover of my new Derby House catalogue I was pleased to see that they are now stocking Porter Knee boots - they were very popular on our yard about 15 years ago, and we were all upset when we couldn't find replacements when the finally wore out a couple of years ago! The have a single strap above the knee, fitted all different horses on the yard and never any slippage!

I bought two pairs of leather knee boots off ebay for my horses. They were very cheaply priced compared with Jeffries etc. Ensure that you get leather ones, they will protect your horses knees far better than neoprene or vinyl...... rmember that when a horse comes down it's over half a ton that drops down on the knee & a bit of neoprene or vinyl will have little effect.
