Anybody got any tips on how to get them to stay up? Ive got the top strap as tight as I can and one stays up fine but one keeps slipping down. I think its when he catches the edge of it when turning or when wet are trotting but it’s really annoying me and I want to start using them as we’ve had a few little trips lately and I don’t want him to protect his knees just in case. They are the woof wear ones.

I have to use the Westropp combined knee and brushing boots with my highland, and there isn’t enough differentiation between the knee and bone above it to get them to stay up.

I also use the westropp boots. They don’t move at all on mine.

Only ones that stay up are ones that have vecro at the top, rather than buckle or clip.

I use old fashioned travel knee boots, not these neoprene ones, I like a leather pad over the joint - more protection. my 600 kilo mare coming down and maybe sliding on the knees (which she has) i want a solid leather pad like a cricket pad.

I do it up just under the chestnut as tight as I can 99% stay up. Cant stand the neoprene ones.

Fair enough. This is just my personal experience. I tried every design, material, and fixing, and found velcro stayed up the best on my cob.

We have 3 pairs of the old fashioned leather and felt knee boots, different brands, for our 3 horses - we use them every time we hack on the road and don't have any problems. Sometimes I hack to a lesson and forget to take them off, and they stay on whilst jumping!

OP - Has the short elastic section weakened on the one which slips down?

I use westropps with velcro and a clip. I used to use the travel knee boots but was finding I needed to have the top strap really tight and I thought it might be uncomfortable for my horse. I use my westropps every ride and they always stay put.

I have used the Jeffries ones for years and as long as I do the top ones up tight they don't slip.

A horse I looked after wore them in the field and we put insulating tape around them in a few places and it's stopped them moving and coming off.

They are brand new so no.

I use the Westropp ones with no problems and they only fall down sometimes if he falls over whilst ridden and slides in them a bit. Maybe he has fat knees!

What size would you say they would fit? My boy is 15 hands so I never know quite which size to go for!
