Knee Injury

yesterday my horse ran through some fencing and tore a great big flap of skin off her knee (it was still attached, just hanging!). I had the vet out and he stitched and stapled it, She is now on box rest for 10 days. Just wondered if anyone else had experienced an injury like this? if so how well did it heal as im worried that it wont heal well because it is right on the joint and she is still able to bend her knee slightly. I would put pics up but i have no idea how to!
 
Another person on our yard had a nasty knee kick, flappy skin thing. Needed cleaning out and stitching under general anaesthetic. It all healed nicely with a neat scar. So fingers crossed for you.
