Hi everyone,
I've had my horse for 6years now and i still dont have a clue what his brand mark is. I've asked lots of people but no one has been able to give me an answer. The closest it has looked like is either a Bavarian Warmblood; Belgium Sports Horse or from the Zangersheide Stud. So its has the shield-like shape of the Zangersheide Stud mark and the B-shape of the Belgium Sports Horse. Any suggestions would be helpful. My horse is 16.1hh bay gelding, he looks very warmblood-like. Also I'm very new to this and so do not know how to put a picture up, any help with that please?

thanks magic104 but thats where i looked first and its kind of a combination of the Zangershiede and Belgium sports horse.
Spring Feather sadly i dont think so, the top of the brand mark is kind of like little squares, like in the Zangershiede Stud mark.

thanks magic104

Luxembourg. The B is not a B but an L with a return loop at the top. There are also some crennelations at the top of the shield (like battlements). Hope that helps. mIt is on the front cover of the WBFSH yearbook

omg Woodlander thankyou so much! do you know anything else about it? sorry if this seems silly but what does WBFSH stand for? and also mIt? i never thought of Luxembourg because i had never heard of that type of brand, i just thought it had been badly branded!

Hi, the same thing happened to me, couldnt work out the branding, have you had him checked for a microchip? thats how i solved it!

hey luckyjac, yeah i did but he didnt have one (so we got one put in) he also didnt have a passport or papers! not sure where to go from here, i found the website though but its in german and not sure if they would be able to help me trace my horse back to there :/ but at least now i know where he originally came from! :D. did your horse have the same brand mark?

It's def not a bavarian warmblood from this county.....at least nothing like the one on my guys flank.

I speak German, having lived there for many years, so if you want to send me a link am happy to do you a quick rough translation of anything. Drop me a PM so's I don't miss it if you do! :)

Mlt is a typo (mistake), I meant to say "it". WBFSH stands for World Breeding Federation for Sports Horses and main studbooks are members. They should be able to give you contact details for this society and, depending on the age of your horse, may be able to part identify using DNA
