Along with treat balls, chews and toys, i have got Bob a kong to keep him occupied whilst im out so can you lovely people suggest some tasty treats to fill it with?
I like the idea of something that can be frozen so it lasts even longer!

PEANUT BUTTER. Sticks well, does not get runny, or go off quicly like cheese, and other dairy or meat based products. Also the smell is enticing and dogs generally love it.

Mashed potato or sweet potato with any added flovoring.
I use stock from any meat I cook to make up instant mash for the boarders and fill kongs as well as filling plastic cups to freeze which then get popped out as ice lollies.

When we first got the dogs and did Kongs, I used to put in a dog biscuit or something that was hard to push in (the right sized bone-shaped biscuit works really well) and was therefore hard for the dog to get out ... it worked really well and kept one of mine occupied forever. I'd put a few smaller objects in there too to tease him into knowing there was something in there that was a quick reward and then he would want to get the biscuit out too. Sometimes I would come home a few hours later and the biscuit would still be in there ... probably drove the poor thing mad trying to get that out. He developed the habit of picking his Kong up on one of those days and almost chucking it at us to get it out for him :D

The Pedigree Jumbone slices (not the actual bone, the packets of cross-sectional slices of it) are the exact right shape and size to be pushed into a Kong, never to come out again. :D

Slices of processed cheese are good for scrumpling up and using to stuff any gaps, the cheap stuff can be moulded like putty and then freezes rock hard.

I only use yoghurt (specifically the most delicious yoghurt in the world, made by Old Chatham Sheepherding Company). I fill the kong right to the top and freeze it.

I use up any of our leftover veg and usually cook up a batch of veg - potato, root veg and broccoli mainly - with some marmite added to the water. The mixture squashes down easily and freezes too.
