Has anyone elses dog ever managed to distroy their kong?

Yes indeed, but the black Kongs last much longer than anything else. As you say, some dogs doesn't need much time to "kill" a tennis ball, I actually think Kongs are reasonably cheap in comparison to their durability.
If you then only have two "destroyer" dogs (and one of them had to be euthanized only about 2 years old), the rest of the dogs aren't quite as "vicious" and they're provided with several Kongs, one Kong can elude the focused attention of the "destroyer" and last for 10 years or more (1 large and 2 medium sized Kongs killed and 1 survivor Kong, + a few newer ones but those were bought when maturity made her enjoy playing with them more than gnawing on them and her teeth wasn't the same anymore).
I also like the fact that I don't feel that as soon as the Kong gets one tiny little scratch, you have to be there, get it and throw it in the bin in less than a few seconds or else it's all eaten.
Rottie hasn't managed to put more than a scratch on his in a couple of months, and not for want of trying. Supermarket dog toys last 2 days & he's not allowed them any more as I can't be bothered picking up all the bits.
my border collie still goes strong with his, even when its full of treats!!!
My friends staffie x lab has had a good go at the same kong, and she destroys 99% of toys in 10 mins, and this has survived!!!
