My regents have died, I am tempted to just get another pair or should I fork out an extra £100 and just go for the konigs. They're the cheapest of the lot but are they worth the money, does anyone have them?? The best price I have found is on the frogpool website but I'm nervous about measuring and getting it wrong, any tips??

I have Konig Komet boots and they are by far and away the best thing I've ever bought! They are lush and I adore them. They look so smart even though I wear them every day to ride in.

BUT - I wouldn't buy a pair without trying them on. I usually wear a 5 1/2 in boots but the Konigs sizing is odd and I ended up with the 4 1/2. Also the leg widths and height is tricky to get right without trying them on. Don't be tempted to get them too short, they will drop although might be rather sore at the back of the knee until they do.

I have a brown pair for everyday and they are great but generally I am a 7 but in Konig I am a 6 1/2.

Mine also had to be part made to measure as my calfs measured outside their off the shelf range - I was gutted as my calves are the skinniest bit of me!

If you can it's worth making the trip to Frogpool as that's where I was measured for mine and then you can order online and still get the online price.

I got mine from Classic Dressage and was lucky to fit in the off the shelf size, actually fit in their display pair so got ££ off.

Does anyone know if they are as good as the komet boots? or should I splash out. Im scared of buying a pair and then my legs outgrowing them. I have funny calves that get fat and then shrink again.

I've just sold my old Konigs on ebay and agree with the sizing above. I went to painstaking detail re measuring legs etc but didn't think to find out about how the foot size came up -- I'm a size 6 and so ordered size 6. They were more like an 8 and made me look like I had men's feet!! Great other than that though I do second the back of the knee pain before they drop!

Have to say my new Sarm Hippique's were much more comfortable from day one and didn't need half of the breaking in!

they are nice boots but the leather is a lot softer than the more expensive models. So much less painful to break in but if you like a very stiff boot then perhaps not for you?
