There's a herd of wild ones at Wicken Fen a few miles down the road, that's all I know.

Thankyou. Been on that website plus RSPB etc. Had good help from Surrey but was wondering if anyone has any personal experience of them.
Looking to do similar as in Camebridge/Surrey but as on a common regularly used by general public wondered how they would fit in. The placid nature attracted me. May also be looking at Dartmoores.

The only problem i know of them is that because they are loose people who want to ride in the fens have to try to avoid them, there are stallions and mares - they are quite inquisitive the ones at Wicken, the problem is with the National trust not fencing them i believe rather than the ponies themselves

They are very cheeky fellows

I used to ride on two: they both did jumping classes up to 1.05m and a bit of dressage as well as being driven. They are very versatile, very strong and can go on forever out hacking.
