Sorry i know its not competition riders but has any one got one of these and if so, what do you think? I'd really like to try the concept of flair without having to go the whole hog of having my saddle reflocked.
 
Second hand one on BD today for £80...

If your saddle fits tho aren't you going to upset it by putting a air pad under it or have I misunderstood what you mean?
 
Thanks Polotash i will have a look. The saddle fits but she is asymmetric through her shoulders and the saddle very slightly slips to the right, so i really wanted something which would sort that out. I was a bit worried that the pad would change the whole fit of the saddle though.
 
Having had a Wow saddler play with the air in my Wow to slip a saddle going to the right i found it made it worse... perhaps she played with the wrong bit though! In your situation I'd buy a numnah with shim pockets and put shims in instead (think NuMed make them).

If you do want the air pad you'll be pleased that when i looked again it's actually £70, not £80!!
 
Thanks Polotash. I just looked and saw it was £70 - i have asked them to send me a photo! Maybe worth giving it a go at that price. I had my saddler flock my saddle to try and fit her asymmetry too but it was awful so i had to change it back. However i think he only flocked one side and reading the flair website you should change the opposite front and back. My mare is just one of those horses that i feel may go better with a different technology (may have a trial of treeless too!) and i really just wanted a cheap way of trying out flair!

I have a non slip numnah which is numed but i didn't realise that you could get one with shims! Thinking about it, i also a pro-lite pad which has 4 different pockets which you can change so it might be worth me playing about with that too.
 
Yeah i was going to get one but the saddle didnt slip at South View! So im going to wait and see what it does next time, although she is resting now until after xmas :)
 
I had a non-slip numed on at south view and i think that stopped it slipping - didn't help with the jumping though!!

Mine is also on rest for a couple of weeks. Hopefully we'll all come back refreshed and raring to go after Christmas!
 
I saw your round - real shame you had two down as it was lovely apart from that. She just looked to get quite keen!!

I was eliminated at first fence - i felt like a total fool. She warmed up super too.....
 
Oh no!!!!! How odd, mabye a rest is the best thing??

I watched the video back of Lily over and over and to have two fences like that was def out of character, i was a bit deep at the upright comeing towards the gate but that usually makes her go higher and didnt think there was a reason for the last part of the combi. Think a rest is def due :)
 
I had one for my aged mare when i was still riding her, the saddle fitter fitted it for me under her saddle as she had a bit of a scoliosis and had lost a bit of muscle along one side of her back due to that and a bit of arthritis, it really helped us both, i thought about selling as shes retired now, but decided to hang onto it as its a handy piece of kit to have
 
I had one for a mare who was assymentrical (she had been in a road accident and had left over scar tissue, so whilst sound she didn't move totally straight). I followed the instructions that came with it (you pump them so there is barely any air in there, it doesn't make obvious sense how it will work as it doesn't look enough - but overinflating them doesn't work) Despite it being the physio who recommended the Korrector pad, she was amazed by the transformation in the mare.

She evened up and developed muscle where there hadn't been previously - she never became totally even (not possible due to old injuries) but moved much better and I never had saddle issues with her (I used the pad with her jump saddle and dressage saddle) and we even did a couple of endurance rides etc.

I did use it after that for other horses, particularly youngsters when the saddle doesn't fit quite perfectly as its so easy to adjust. Think it saved me fortunes in saddle fitting fees!
