Has anyone any information about the temperament of this cross - Jazz and Crack C are the grandfathers - Westpoint the father...I have a young offspring and would love to know more!
Jazz is known for producing quite hot and sensitive horses that need time to mature. If pushed too soon they brain fry quite easily. Krack C again tends to produce quite sharp offspring but a more settled temperament sometimes comes through from his sire (Flemmingh).
It would be interesting to know the dam's breeding as the qualities of the two stallions mentioned means that they are often used on mares with a more placid outlook on life.
Friend of mine has a Jazz x Flemmingh mare (quite a common cross as Flemmingh is known for producing an equable temperament). She is a very sensitive mare with stellar paces and a good work ethic (elite premium as a 3yo) but has taken time to mature so has sensibly been taken very slowly and it is now paying off.
thanks this is so helpful... "lost" passport for a few days hence late reply!!! he came to me with a "history" and was/is incredibly nervous, sensitive/stubborn and bright...I have gone back to basics with him - he is 2 years "behind" other horses of the same age - but I have the time and patience ...the dams history - she has has Krack C grandfather and father Tushchinski- her grandmother also was a westfalian...
any other info or advice gratefully received!
