My almost 3 yr old has changes to one of her spiny processes - worsened over 3 months and while I haven't yet had a call from Svend I suspect, as does my vet, that he will say it needs to come out. My filly has never worked and has had intermittent bouts of lameness behind but is currently sound and I lunged her today- fine in walk, trot and canter on both reins (first time ever lunged, bless her!).
I know what the surgery involves and despite reassurance I still have a gut feeling that says no. Does anyone have experience of such a youngster with similar issues-how did it resolve? I don't want to make the wrong decision and with the 12 month insurance issue I have until January next year to get it sorted. Please help!! I'm not getting any sleep!
