Well Tilly is home 6 vertebrae (sp) were operated on, no pics as I can't get them from my phone to here
if anyone could help I can email, but all it shows is where the dressing is, best description is where the back half of the saddle sits!!!, I take the dressing off tomorrow and could take pics then if anyone could help?.
Tilly is on Danilon for 5 days and Quinoflox (antibiotic) for 5 days, She is going back in on Tuesday to see the physiotherapist and she starts her rehab programme tomorrow, box rest for 3 weeks with 30 mins walking in hand twice a day for these 3 weeks, after that we start lunge work in a Pessoa the time building up from weeks 4 to 6 with 20 mins trotting pole work once daily (but not sure when this needs to be introduced, so will check on Tuesday).
Speaking to vet today and he said when cutting the ligaments he said he could feel a difference in some areas, it was described as the ligament mineralising due to pathology, and some vertebrae were very close, I did ask if he could see the bone to see if there were damage from contact but he said you get a better view on the x-ray.
Tilly will have her stitches out a week Tuesday and from what I have been told we wont know if it has worked until I ride her!!!!!!!!!, with the way her behaviour was I'm really not looking forward to that, I suppose I can hope for a pleasant surprise
In herself Tilly was still a bit dopey when we picked her up, but did seem more awake when she got home, she is normally food aggressive but allowed me in her stable this evening, I would like to think less pain less grumpy, but I know I have to not look for little signs in everything and she could have still been feeling mellow!!!
So I suppose what I'm saying is it's wait and see and I'm keeping my fingers crossed, anyone else who can cross fingers or give vibes please have a large glass of Rose wine
