So i've recently heard about these K'Vall stirrups.

I'm really interested in getting a pair as I suffer from knee problems which is affected by riding.

Just wanted to know on peoples experiences with them ?

And has anyone ever had the free trial they offer on their website?

I'd be really interested to see what you all think :)

*Biased opinion disclaimer*

I've been using them since Feb 2010 and would not be without them now

I used to get lower back pain when doing a lot of canter work (caused by slouching at work rather than riding), however with the kvall I get no pain at all and can do a 12 mile fun ride even when not riding fit and suffer no consequences the next day (normally would be very stiff and on the ibuprofen).

They have also been great hunting, and people may comment on the unusual looks, but most people have been interested rather than rude (well to my face!!!)

Oh that's interesting, did you purchase yours from their main website?

I'm really not bothered about the look would just love to ride without hobbling around after! From what i've read it sounds like it takes alot of pressure from the knee because of the flat surface?

I bought mine from BETA and dad now sells them (hence why my opinion is biased). Google / ebay and you will find them

They do definitely relieve your knee, as you no longer have to grip to balance, although my knees fortunately aren't my weak spot, just my back.

I'm interested in these stirrups, having seen a post in Comp Riders about them :)

I have a wonky ankle, it gives way when I put weight on it (trotting, jumping). Although I won't be jumping the Dizz now I was wondering if they would provide some stability, especially when she's doing her big lopy canter and throws her head round.

Well a guy used them after he had his ankle crushed by a large bale of hay which left him with nerve damage and a tendency for the ankle to flop over.

He was able to hunt and jump with the k'vall, until it healed. I think he now just uses them for second horses, as hunting peeps are a bit image concious you know!

How much are they in this country JC? They do look very lovely.

Is it hard to go back to normal irons though. If I used them at homes and had to switch for BD and BS would I then really struggle do you think?

They are £145, but that includes leather bonded leathers

Relatively expensive as made in smaller numbers and not mass produced in China like Sprenger!! :D:D

I can swap back to normal stirrups for BSJA and polocrosse, with no problems. I do miss them if I've gone for a long hack and forgotten to put them back on. The interesting thing is I think they have actually helped my balance in normal irons, not saying it would be the same for everyone though.

Mum only rides with them now!!

They'll have to go on the birthday list I think.

I wonder if I'd qualify for the magic doctors note. I had ACL reconstruction a few years back. Perhaps I could exaggerate my limp a bit for a couple of days! :D

I do not believe that BSJA allow people to ride now days not even wearing a jacket but in a 'team coat' or whatever they call them but they don't think this is ok. Silly so and so's.
