I'm planning to take my mare, I was wondering if anyone had any experience of these and any helpful hints/tips on how best to present my mare (or indeed who best to send her to bearing in mind I have no experience of these!) and what to wear, is it white all over?

Do you re-present them at another keuring to be awarded a higher predicate or is it all judged at the original one?

Also I'll be going to the one at Myserscough on 2nd August, are any other HHO'ers going?

oo - I'm going!

I want to know the answer to this question too as I have never been to one either.

So, sorry - no help at all to you but I will see you there!

Hello

Good luck with your mare, I'm sure you'll do absolutely fine. It's a very relaxed atmosphere and everyone is very helpful and friendly!!
I am guessing your showing your mare in-hand and she hasn't been to one of these before (in Holland)? In which case yes, you have the pleasure of wearing white all over!!

I think they will award the highest predicate they think she deserves (on the day), if you feel she can achieve higher, i.e. she is awarded the ster, but you think she can get the keur, you can present her again next time.

We did the one at Myerscough last year, the IBOP test to get our Welt Hit II mare a higher grading (which she did get

- even though she was SO naughty

). I am trying to find out if they do an IBOP or similar for the stallions as we have a licensed stallion we want get some kind of stallion keur?!

- any help would be very appreciated!!

This is Unique at the grading last year (myerscough):

The judge/studbook selector (from Holland)! explaining to everyone, why she has awarded her the keur - despite her being a bit of a naughty mare

Yes I'm showing her in hand, perhaps I best buy some overall's to try and keep myself all white....lol. I'd take her for the performance test if I had a rider for her, and by next year she will have a foal so I think thats out for a year or two, but at least if she gets the Ster it's a start.

Your mare looks fantastic, no wonder she got the Keur!

Been to one (in The Netherlands) with my horse a couple of years ago. Indeed a relaxing atmosphere and there's always someone with more experience willing to help out.
