Im not sure if tis question makes sense or not as i am new to this but...

Do i register my next years foal with the KWPN or Hanovarian society? Whichever one - is there certain naming rules that i have to abide by such as first letters? My foal is by the hanovarian Don Ricoss and my mare is a KWPN called Utellorose H. Any suggestions? I am crap with names

Is the stallion graded with KWPN ??

I would go Hannovarian - and you need to name the foal with the first letter of the stallions name

So you could name the foal Don ??????? xx

I would take the mare next Sept/Oct to the main Hann show and get her graded into the stud book and get Hann papers, although DR is KWPN approved so i guess it is personal preference and i dont know how the KWPN works as in grading, do you know if your mare has been graded or needs to be?

Not 100% on this, but for KWPN I think the sire has to be approved for the foal to be entered into the foalbook (VB) otherwise they are entered into the Register B, until the sire is approved. You can find the proper rulings (in English) on the NA-WPN website www.nawpn.org - or someone else on here might know for sure

If a stallion is graded with one of the studbooks below the foal will receive reg. A papers if the sire of the mare is by a KWPN approved/acknewledged stallion or by a stallion who is in the VB book or reg. A of the KWPN.

- English Thoroughbred

The show is at Addington normally, your mare will be presented in hand, plaited up, she will have to be stood up and then run on a triangle, foal will be with her and can either go loose or also run in hand, (if she is accepted then foal will be branded) details can be found here and entry forms will be up later next year http://www.hanoverian-gb.org.uk/ you will need to send foal ID and cover note over as soon as done. I would advise ringing up Mrs Katy Holder-Vale (Stud Book Manager) just to check your mare fits the bill and she will advise you furthur. PM me if you want more help/info

Duggestions:
For a filly:
- If you're going Hanovarian: Donna Rose (or Rosa) ... carrying on the mother's mother 'family' name
- If you're going KWPN: Edelrose ... edel = noble in Dutch

For a colt: ???
- Hanovarian: Don dela Rose, Don der Rosa

,
- KWPN: Especial Don, Extra Donner,
