Can someone please tell me what the difference is between the KWPN passport and the registration document. I have a Dutch Warmblood Mare that I need to transfer the ownership on and all I have is the passport. no seperate registration document, however, her passport has all the details of her parentage in and I dont know whether just to send the passport and the hair and the photos and 44.00 euros or whether I have to apply for a replacement registration document which is 176.00 euros. The previous owner (importer) insists I have everything. - now confused.

I still need to do mine!! But I think you should keep hold of the passport.... I have a separate piece of paper which has a repeat of her breeding on it and the previous registered owners name and address on it... The passport has to stay with the horse....
It is the piece of paper, so I've been told that has to be sent off.
Others on here could prob advise you further tho....

HI

If you want, and to save bucket loads of money and the risk of the passport going missing in the international post, you do not have to send the passports off to the KWPN. You can simply send them to the British Warmblood Society for overstamping the change of ownership.

The extra piece of paper is really just the extended pedigree for them. It is usually found tucked into the flap at the back of the passport. It is not vital to have this as it is not proof of ownership for KWPN horses.

However, if you have a German horse then the extra piece of paper is basically it's log book and IS proof of ownership.

Hope this helps

Thank you very much. I dont have that extra piece of paper, and am worried I wont be able to sell her without it. I will try the British Warmblood Society first, because the KWPN definately want the original passport and hair and photos and a sworn affidavit that she is mine, just to get a replacement, and lots of money.
