Can anyone help me?

I have a 7 yr old KWPN with full FEI passport from the KWPN Studbook.

However there are a LOT of discrepancies on the identity drawings (for example it says he has two socks, but he has none, and the whorls are drawn in the wrong place etc!)

I was told by the breeder that this is just because the identity drawing was done too early, at 2 weeks old, so has errors? He said I should send a lock of the horse's hair to KWPN who will be able to verify my horse and re-issue a passport?!

i want to compete at affiliated this year however, so don't really want to be without a passport for a few weeks/months! Also will his vaccinations then be void?!

Has anyone come across such a problem before? Any advice much welcomed!

Thank you x

Amage - how do I go about microchip scanning for verification?

To be honest i don't give a monkey's about his breeding - he's a gelding - but I do want to have a legal passport, and want to register him with BD asap!!

Thanks for your help :)

There should be a microchip number in his passport somewhere so ask the vet to come out and scan him to read his chip and that way you can make sure they match up! Assuming they do if you contact the studbook with a signed letter from breeder and a new marking chart from your vet they should be able to either alter the existing book or just put attach new markings chart. I had a pony once that had three parkings charts in his passport as he changed colour so much depending on season...his charts had him as strawberry roan, bucksin/bay and dun at ages foal, 3 and 7! If you do have to send passport away I would register him first, take photocopies of all passport details and then send away so you don't lose out on competition time. A letter from your vet/email from studbook stating they require you to send passport should cover you for local shows short term!
