So after a lot of faffing I may have *finally* decided on which saddler to use, I am thinking of Keith from L for Leather? I've heard good reviews about him!

What does everyone think?

Feel free to pm :)

I have used him and found him to be very reasonable, he gave me a good trade in price for my part-ex saddle. I have been very happy with my purchase it fits both me and my horse.

I used them years ago for a difficult to fit horse that others had failed to fit. He brought loads of decent saddles out, fit a saddle which unfortunately rubbed my horse after a week or so. He gave me a full refund so cant fault him for that. The horse in question was a difficult fit so not knocking him as maybe made to measure was the way to go but I wanted a second hand saddle as at the time my budget wasnt a new saddle. I found them to be decent, honest and reasonable.

brill people to deal with, keith is really professional and genuine, he fitted my prestige saddle and is also a prestige stockist, another person who is brill is at the saddlers den in southport, he is an excellent saddle fitter..give keith a try, if you are not happy with his service he would be very upset and try his best to resolve the situation..he is much better than many in the local area

I've used Keith at L for leather for years and have generally been happy. His rates are really reasonable and he has a fantastic stock of both new and second hand saddles.
If you google them you will find the odd horror story but probably every saddler has had the 'saddle ruined my horse' line thrown at them at some point in their careers. That certainly hasn't happened to me and Keith has always been more than willing to come back and review anything I've not been totally happy with.
I'd ask for Keith rather than his daughter Laura though. I value his extra years of experience and he's never in a rush to be off.

I used another company in South Cheshire quite well known who advised my saddle never fitted and I had to replace it...even though it had been custom fitted to him by another saddle fitter a few years previous....I wasn't happy with what I was told...so I went to Keith who assessed my saddle and it only needed a bit of restuffing and it was absolutely fine....he was professional and efficient and wasn't trying to sell a saddle when not required....would definitely use again....wish I hadn't wasted my money on the original saddle check and just used Keith and l for leather first...

He stuffed my saddle perfectly so got no probes. However my friend bought anew made to measure saddle of him and says she hates it. Something to do with How the knee rolls sit. I think this is more to do with her preferences than his ability so maybe just be quite specific on how it should be.

I would say that overall seems to be a positive response I am trying to get hold of him but I guess must be on his Christmas hols!
We are desperate for a saddle for this new pony!

We now have a saddle that seems to fit the pony really well and my daughter finds it very comfortable
It was a very reasonable price and we bought second hand leathers and irons too. From my experience I would recommend to others
