Anyone had problems with a surging/lack of power?

Having only just bought it (Saturday) bit gutted!!

Sounds like it could be the fuel filter needs cleaning out. Was the tank very empty when you collected it? Could easily just be junk from the bottom of the tank blocking the filter, hence the intermittentness (Is that a word?) of it.

Yes ,havethe fuel filter/s changed.By the way , the running a tank low, sucking up dirt, is a myth,Fuel is always sucked from the bottom of the tank. The truth is that the kind of people who run diesels low are the people who are always having to fill them from a dirty contaminated can.

I have a L200 Animal, we have had it two years now and have had to have a new turbo and the fuel filter changed due to lack of power - thank goodness it is still under warranty!!

We have a nissan navara. the symptoms of the lack of power/surging were..... serious lack of power and a feeling like you would get if you were to run out of fuel! with us this was only happening in 4th gear and very occassionally in 3rd. We were told by the nissan computer that it was the accelorator sensor pedal, new one £400! mananged to get 2nd hand one, didnt fix it......eventually after much phoning around different garages my bro in law (mechanic) was told it was a switch underneath the vehicle around the area underneath the gear box. He disconected the switch and bingo, it worked! It is the switch that tells the vehicle if the vehicle is in neutral or in gear. I have had no probs since the seitch has been disconnected!
