L94 - Trinity Consultants and injectable omeprazole

I use and recommend TC L94 and P45 all the time - fantastic products!
OP, I'm so glad your ponies is feeling better.

Quick question FFAQ, I have an ex laminitic and an EMS pony plus we are on Ironstone soil so a bad combination for his liver especially as our water is naturally filtered through the stone. Would you use the L94 as the detox and then keep them on P45 or can they be used together longer term. From spring to autumn they are on a bald track with meadow hay and while the laminitic looks fabulous DP never loses his bloated belly. Would the P45 help?

We took 2 horses to Tom Beech recently - one was recommended L94 or Ron Fields Remount, and the other was recommended U33 or Ron Fields Ulc30Ex Plus.. The one who was recommened the L94 is already on the oily herbs, and has been for a while, so that was part of the deciding factor to go for the Ron Fields for both. I can't wait to see how they respond!

Mine had been on oily herbs already with no changes in his demeanour (I have stopped them whilst on the L94 as don’t want to overdo anything) so it must be something else in there working its magic!

It’s definitely not cheap, and I have been recommended to stay on it for a few months (4-6 weeks at full dose, which is about 3-4 bottles so very not cheap…although compared to weekly omeprazole injections for the other one it’s still a bargain!😄😳, and then at a lower dose for another month or two). And having seen the change in him I don’t resent it one bit. I honestly think this is the first time in years where I have felt truly happy up with my horses, like I’m making a positive difference to them at last.

Now it’s time to put my training skills back to the test. I worked with the little Arab yesterday and she gives me BBP vibes (without the bonkersness) in that she is super engaged, wants to be in your pocket, and is super intelligent at picking up what you want. The Connemara is making me think much harder about the way I do things. He is so smart, but very sensitive in a different way, so I have to be way more aware of my posture, eye contact and aids. He is overly mobile, she is not flexible at all. So different to each other, I think it’s going to keep me on my toes making sure I don’t try to carbon copy training from one to the other (obvious to anyone with multiple horses but I have only ever had one to train at a time before).

I would phone trinity and ask. They have given me a short-mid term plan and then have asked me to call back to update and revise the plan.

How’s your Connemara BBP? Still improving on the L94?
He’s doing really well thank you. Still way off what you would expect from a normal 4 or 5 yo, but compared to the way he was up until a few months ago he is brilliant. He is now down to half rate L94, so still costing me a fortune, but worth it. He is still weirdly fluidy behind the ribs which still concerns me, no one can tell me the cause, but in himself he is so much happier than he was.

Sadly I can’t say the same about the Arab. We stopped the omeprazole injections and moved on to paste, and she is getting aggressive again, so I think it isn’t working as well for her.

Is she having something to buffer the hind gut whilst on Omeprazole? Sometimes they can get hind gut acidosis whilst being treated with Omeprazole because it stops acid production to the extent that bad bacteria enters the hind gut (normally the stomach acid would kill the bad bacteria before it gets that far). I think something like Equishure is what's usually recommended to combat that?

Great news that your boy is still doing well on the L94!

That was actually my thought was whether this is the point where I should be adding equishure. I did that with BBP at the end of his treatment, so that’s a good shout, thanks for the reminder.
